As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I am all about diversifying. I don’t have much confidence in any one investment vehicle at the moment given the state of the global economy, so this Instagram post really did speak to me when I saw it. It encapsulates my current investment strategy!

No one knows exactly when or how the global economy is going to bounce back from the depths it was plunged into during the first lock down, or what the overall impact on any the various asset classes, will end up being. I therefore think that rather than try to predict which ones will do well, this is a time to diversify (“buy the whole team”, as aptly put in below extract) and spread across different investments classes and hopefully, if one investment doesn’t do too well others might.

Once things are back on an even keel again (I wonder when that might be though!), then I will consider rebalancing my portfolio.

So yes, there is a lot of uncertainty everywhere presently, but we can still work towards a financially free future.  To do that, you’ve got to decide if you want to hoard your cash (surplus to your emergency fund) because of the comfort looking at your bank balance offers you (forgetting that the value is being eroded away) or if you want to take the plunge into investment, and decide on how you want to mitigate those risk.

Remember, every action comes with its own risks, you’ve just got to decide what your risk appetite is and which risk you will take, but make sure your do your research before making that decision.

I am interested to hear what your strategy is; share in the comments box.  Please share this post, like and comment.  Also let me know other topics you would be interested in reading about.
